Elevated lacrosse skills are introduced at the 14U level as we continue to teach good sportsmanship and team play. Advance moves such as dodging, faking, checking, advanced ball handling (catching on the run, over the head, etc.), scooping the ball at full speed, protecting and carrying the ball, man down plays and set defensive and offensive plays are reviewed and practiced. We continue to incorporate line drills, stick handling, checking, advanced clearing drills and scooping skills.
Student/athletes are encouraged to be able to think for themselves and to be able to look up the field to see where teammates are positioned, determine which ones are open, see where the field is collapsing and where is the best shooting angle against the defensive positions.
Girls Safety Equipment
All field players (everyone but the goalie) must wear a mouth guard with no protruding tabs and ASTM approved women's regulation lacrosse goggles while on the field during games AND practices.
Goalies must wear a regulation helmet, throat protector, mouth guard, chest protector and goalie gloves while on the field during games AND practices. Leg padding and pelvic protection is recommended but not required. Goalie equipment can be provided, if required.
